About

Mouth to Mouth Theatre Productions is a voluntary, community based company, dedicated to enabling access to high quality, original theatre and performance arts for the people of East Anglia. We aim to achieve this through our productions, projects and through our  classes and workshops for children, young people and adults from all walks of life.

Mouth has existed in various forms for over three decades and the company is the brainchild of James Holloway.

Originally know as The Outside Seating Company, performances of epic proportions were staged of  Shakespeare's most famous works, in various wonderful historical settings.

But James always wanted to have a solid, physical base for the arts in Suffolk, so when the disused maltings in Halesworth became available, he wasted no time in raising the funds necessary to procure the building.

Over the subsequent ten years, the project has developed from a dusty, disused warehouse to a thriving centre for artistic expression of all kinds, and a nice place to meet up for lunch!

The Cut now boasts a state-of- the-art 200 seat theatre, East Anglia's largest sprung dance studio, art galleries and a cafe/bar to relax in.

Outside Seating became Mouth to Mouth, and the company is now the resident company at The Cut. In our new home we perform various plays, some original works by local writers, and some lesser known gems. Weekly classes in dance and theatre are conducted there for people of all ages and backgrounds.

We still perform open air Shakespeare each summer, touring around some of Suffolk’s many idyllic locations. We relish bringing The Bard’s work to life in comprehensible and enjoyable ways, while staying true to the text that Shakespeare originally penned.

This summer we plan to offer a double bill of Shakespeare, with a unique rendering of 'The Taming of the Shrew' to tour gardens throughout Suffolk from June to July, followed by the epic 'Henry V' situated solely at Eye Castle shortly afterwards.

It will certainly be a challenge for us to convey the full range of these two very contrasting pieces, but one thing that you can be certain of, Mouth to Mouth always brings a unique approach to creating innovative, entertaining and accessible theatre for all...
